Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (PRNRMU) is one of the oldest and leading medical universities in Russia. It was earlier known as The Russian State Medical University (RSMU).
The university has the biggest Moscow state clinical hospitals where hundreds and thousands of patients are being treated every day. The students studying in this university gets a good opportunity to acquire hands on experience on how a patient is treated, diagnosed/operated and how the patient will be recovered.
Apart from that the university also has wonderful sport centres, library and dormitory for its students. The university have 5 fully furnished hostels, which can accommodate more than 2000 students. The hostels are flat type, with attached bathroom, toilet and kitchen. The system of residence is separate for boys and girls, 2 and 3 seated big rooms, upgraded comforts, central heating, full furniture with beddings, shower room, toilet, washbasin, security guards, reception, laundry, cleaning and washing personnel, reading rooms etc.
The university has an excellent recreation campus that is located on the Volga bank. In 1971 on the Volga bank near Konakovo town sports and health camp, Konakovo was built, where 200 students and university employees can enjoy themselves during winter and summer time. There is a well-equipped beach, gym, sports grounds for playing football, basketball, volleyball, tennis at their disposal. The cost is not very high and it is partially paid by students and employees trade unions.
A modern sports complex was built which is about 6 thousand sq. m. with three play gyms, a range of sports equipment halls and gyms for sports groups is at students RSMU employees’ service. Due to a great variety of sports groups everybody can choose one to his/her liking.
In this university sportsmen and students participate in more than 100 various competitions annually. They become champions of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Development of Russia and wins medal places for many sports.
