The World Health Organization (WHO) was founded on 7th April, 1948. It is the coordinating authority of the United Nations which is concerned with international public health. The Headquarter of WHO is located in Geneva, Switzerland. WHO is a member of the United Nations Development Group. The main aim of WHO is to provide leadership on international health matters. It also sets the norms and standards and shapes the health research agenda. It helps various countries in strengthening the health system and fostering the health security. It also provides technical support to various countries and monitors and assesses health trends.
