NEET, 2017 Result has Declared | Last Chance to take MBBS Admission in Abroad without any Entrance

Saturday, June 24, 2017

In 2016, the Supreme Court has made a mandatory rule that the sole criterion for admission into medical and dental course in India will be through the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET). The examination will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of medical and dental councils. As such NEET was held on 7th May, 2017 and the result was supposed to be declared on June 8, 2017.

But petitioners alleged that a uniform question paper was not set by CBSE and there was a vast difference between the one in English and Tamil. They demanded the NEET, held on 7th May, to be cancelled and appealed for a fresh examination with a uniform question paper. There should be one question paper in NEET otherwise the scaling of intelligence and aptitude would differ.

The Madras high court stayed all further proceedings with regards to the examination held on May 7. However, the Supreme Court ordered to give the much awaited result of NEET within June. Finally, CBSE declared the result on 23rd June, 2017. The result brings relief to the students seeking MBBS admission in India or abroad. Lakhs of students were anxiously waiting for the result because they were unable to take a decision whether to study MBBS in India or abroad. In 2017 nearly 11 lakhs candidates appeared for NEET, out of which only 6.11 lakhs students could successfully cleared the exam. In 2017, the cut-off score of NEET is 131 for the unreserved candidates, 118 for physically handicapped candidates and 107 for other candidates. If someone has cleared the cut-off marks in NEET, 2017 then he/she should wait for the counselling whose registration process will start from 3rd of July to 11th July till 5 p.m. Seat allotment will be announced on 13th and 14th July, 2017 and declaration of result will be on 15th July, 2017.

But the students who unfortunately could not clear the cut-off mark of NEET, 2017 should not waste any time and straightway take the decision to study MBBS in abroad. Because this may the last chance to take admission in abroad without clearing any entrance test. The Union Health Minister of India is planning to make NEET mandatory for aspirants seeking MBBS admission in abroad. It was suggested by the Union Health Minister that candidates will not be issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) for studying in foreign medical college if they could not clear NEET exam. If the medical student fails to receive NOC from MCI, they will not be eligible to practice in India.

Thus it may be the last opportunity for the students to take admission for overseas MBBS without any entrance exam. From the next year it may become compulsory for every student to clear NEET before taking admission in medical college in abroad. So students who have not done well in NEET in 2017 should immediately reserve their seat in foreign medical college in this year before NEET become compulsory for overseas medical admission.
