MBBS |The Most Prestigious Career Option

Friday, June 30, 2017

Medical profession is the noblest profession in the world. A doctor is considered as God as they save the life of a person and they are the only person who can reduce our sufferings. That is the reason why our Constitution allows them to use the prefix “Dr.” in front of their name.

Doctors are true professionals and not a businessman. It is a challenging career. It is not easy to become a doctor. You have to work very hard for becoming a doctor. When you will take admission in MBBS College in abroad or in India, you have to make sure that you have opt a career option which is much different than others. MBBS is a long course. You will need 5-6 years for completing MBBS and after that you have to do internship or practice as a resident doctor for some years. At times you may observe that your peers got settled in their career but you are still consumed with the medical books and preparing for your exam. And even after becoming a doctor you may be busy working for 18 hour shift while you peers may work for 8 hours a day. Again when your peers are going to be retired and cheerily planning for retirement plan, you may find yourself in your busy profession. Thus becoming a doctor is a very tough job. This is why all physicians have to take two oaths when they first enter into the medical profession. Fist is that they should uphold the dignity and honour of their profession and second is that they have to declare that they will solemnly pledge themselves to consecrate their life to the service of humanity.

The hardest part of becoming a doctor is the long period of studies. It requires 10-15 years of time for becoming an expert doctor. It is very tough for doctors to balance their professional and personal life. Many a times they have to remain available 24 X 7 for the wellness of patients. Apart from their professional commitment they also have to engage themselves in the continual learning to keep them updated with the latest advancement in medicine.

But the best part of becoming a doctor is when you will save the life of a person. You can then realise that you have made a difference to humanity by your hard effort. That is very satisfying and no other job can give you that level of satisfaction. As a doctor you have to consistently deliver the best to patients and for that you need passion and seemingly unlimited stamina. But when you will save the life of a person you will get the gratification of all your effort and above all you will get blessings of the family of the healing patient. That is the moment which will seal a bond between you and the patient's family and then that family become a part of your family forever.

Thus it is said that being a doctor is a blessings. Being a doctor you take care of the person when he needs you the most. And when you can see the smile in the face of your patient after your treatment, who came to you in pain, is just so rewarding.

So those who dreams to be a doctor should go ahead with their dreams. It is true that getting seat in MBBS in the government medical college in India is very tough. You have to clear NEET examination for pursuing MBBS in India and even after clearing NEET there is no guarantee that you will get admission in the government medical college in India. Obviously the private medical college in India is becoming so costly day by day that pursuing MBBS in private medical college is just becoming out of reach for the middle class people. Due to these challenges many meritorious students have to keep themselves away from becoming a doctor. But in India number of doctors is very less as compared to patients. We need more doctors in India. So what I shall advise to the medical aspirants is that if you are not getting admission in the government medical colleges in India, you should pursue MBBS in abroad. There are many countries like Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine, etc. that will provide you the best MBBS course at a very low cost. After getting MBBS degree from abroad, clear Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and become a doctor in India. We need more and more doctors in India and it is only the medical aspirants who can save our country by becoming a doctor, no matter whether they study MBBS in India or abroad.
