MBBS Admission | Why you should not buy a seat on donation?

Thursday, July 06, 2017

It is true that getting admission in medical college in India is very tough especially in the government medical college. Even after clearing NEET examination, which has become compulsory for medical admission in India, there is no any guarantee that you will get admission in the government medical college. Even the seats of private medical college are also limited in India.

So what many students do is that they reserve a seat in the private college in India at a very high price in the name of capitation fees or donation. Due to this many deserving students who cannot afford to pay such a huge price do not get a chance to study MBBS in India. The government of India has made NEET compulsory for admission into MBBS in 2016 in order to remove this donation culture in India. Though this plan has become fruitful to some extent but still the culture of donation is prevailing in some private medical college of India.

It is not a good idea to buy a seat in the private medical college in India by giving hefty donation. There are many reasons for that. Some are discussed below:

• First, buying seats in private medical college in India with such huge price leads to a shortage of seats for some deserving students.

• Second, when you buy a seat with such a huge price, the cost of pursuing MBBS course in India becomes double the actual price. But instead you can pursue top quality medical education in abroad at a much lower price than in India.

• Third, most of the private college in India which offers you a seat on donation do not have the well built or necessary infrastructure to conduct day to day laboratory and clinical experiments. That is why they offer you a seat in the name of capitation fees or donation despite of your marks in 12th standard and NEET results. But remember at the end of the day it is only you who will have to suffer.

• Fourth, generally the private college where students get admission on donation are situated in rural areas. Such medical college do not have experienced faculty because the experienced faculty gets job in the cities and do not prefer to go to rural areas. So you will not get that quality of education in such college what you have paid for. Moreover, you will not get adequate clinical training in such college since the travel time between such college and the nearest town is high and it will be very tedious job to take the student to a nearby hospital for clinical training for the college administration. Even if your college have a clinical centre in the campus, inflow of the patients will be poor. So you will not be expert in clinical practice in such college.

• Fifth, there are many countries in the world like Russia, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, etc. that provides top class MBBS degree. The medical universities in these countries are recognized and approved by World Health Organization (WHO) and Medic al Council of India (MCI). After passing out MBBS from these countries you can practice anywhere in the world by clearing the screening test of the country. Such as in you have to clear Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) to practice in India after passing MBBS in abroad. The most advantage of studying in the medical universities of these countries is that no entrance examination is required to take admission for MBBS. Admission in these countries is only based on the performance of 12th standard. Moreover, no donation is required to take admission in these medical colleges in abroad. So even if you could not qualify NEET in India or did not get a chance in the government medical college you can easily get chance in the medical universities of these countries. So why to pay donation in the private college in India while getting admission in top medical college in abroad.

• Sixth, while you will study in abroad you will not merely attain a medical degree from the foreign university but it will also shape your whole perspective of a life. You will get a good exposure to multicultural people. You will receive higher standard of education and come to know about many advanced technologies that still have not come in India. Thus you will get much more job opportunities and higher job roles in your country after completing MBBS in abroad.

So, don't ever think to reserve a seat in the private medical college in India by giving hefty donation. Better you should pursue MBBS in abroad.
