Romania is located in halfway between the Equator and the North Pole. It is bordered by the Danube River in the south-eastern frontier. The terrain of Romania is evenly divided between mountains, hills, plains and sea beaches. There are three major ranges in Romania – the eastern Carpathians, the southern Carpathians and the western Carpathians. Due to the various types of terrain, a variety of landscape is present in each of these ranges. The Black sea is located at 200 km away from the capital of the city, Bucharest. Floral and faunal diversity of the country aptly compliments the geographical diversity of the country.
